Creevey Russell Lawyers in conjunction with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) hosted a free information session in Toowoomba for small to medium business owners on issues surrounding insolvency on the 21 October.
The information session was at Creevey Russell’s Toowoomba office and was presented by Creevey Russell Special Counsel Ashley Stanton from the firm’s litigation team and Josh Edwards from the CBA, who presented on “Managing your cash flow”.
Josh Edwards has 10 years’ business banking experience doing various roles in both metropolitan and regional locations, with the last three years at CBA. Mr Edwards has experience in a number of industries, including health/medical, manufacturing, construction and renewable energy.
“Having worked with customers at the Gold Coast during and post GFC, managing cash flow as a result of bad debts can be both challenging and detrimental to business operations at short notice. The key is having the correct structures and mechanisms in place during the good times, in order to reduce any impact on your business”.
Mr Stanton has almost 10 years of litigation experience and has previously run his own national practice focussing on litigation, property and insolvency.
“Insolvency is a painful process and it can have an impact on any business and it can happen without warning,” he said.
“The aim of this seminar we hosted in conjunction with the Commonwealth Bank was to enable people to be better informed and prepared to try and protect their business.
Feedback from attendees on the night said the seminar provided excellent insights into how to protect their business, themselves and their future.
Further seminars are scheduled – please see the Events page for upcoming free events held by Creevey Russell Lawyers.
